CEO and age

Though having a young CEO is trendy today and gets a lot of coverage in the media (especially if the CEO is the publicity hungry kind with a PR person to put out flattering press releases), most professionally managed organizations prefer to have an older person as CEO with at least a few decades of experience in the particular field.

Most young CEOs can be classified into 2 categories:
1. Family owned business, when the owner dies early and his children take over or children are given important positions as soon as they complete their education.

2. Founder has started the business early. They can usually afford to do this if their family is well established and can provide the startup capital.
